According to some experts, such as Bobb Biehl in his book, "Decade By Decade", for the first ten years of every child's life, it's crucial for them to know without a doubt that they are SAFE and UNCONDITIONALLY LOVED. Saying "I love you. I will always love you, no matter what you do or don't do," can give your grandchildren a deep sense of security and will build a foundation of confidence for the rest of their lives.
Jean: "Do you want to go see Mamaw in Tennessee with Nana and Papaw?" Malachi: "Yeah." Malachi immediately takes Jean's hand and heads toward the door. If it includes Nana and Papaw this little guy is up for anything. Even at two years old he knows what he wants and confidently goes after it.
So Malachi's 4th of July road trip started with a stop for his favorite meal; chicken tenders at Chick-fil-A. As with any road trip, an ice cream cone at DQ is a must. You will not want to miss the video on how a 2-year-old can win every game of Corn Hole. We didn't get pictures of the squirt gun fight, badminton game, or how upset he was when we left Mamaws, but the last picture sums up how much fun he had on his weekend road trip to Tennessee.
Do you think this little man knows he is safe and loved unconditionally? I think so!
