Do you know what made a four-hour round trip to North Georgia for a ball game and a three-hour round trip south a day later to a dance competition worth it? It wasn't the win or the trophy. It was a text the next morning that said, "Thanks for coming, papaw. I know it was a long way. I love you". It was the big smile, the hug, and the words, "Thanks for coming, papaw. I love you".
I have to admit I was the big winner at both events.
