How My Calendar Keeps Me From Being Stressed, Gets the Grandkids To Come Over, Keeps Me Healthy, Improves My Social Life, and Saves Me A Bunch Of Money

If you are one of every three people who use a wall calendar, today you will need to run out and pick up a 2025 calendar. Why? Regardless of age, whether you use paper planners, go digital like me, or use any combination, it will most likely not get done if you don't put it on a calendar. Relying solely on memory often leads to important things slipping through the cracks.

It doesn't matter what you say your priorities are; your calendar reveals the truth about what is important to you. If you are thinking, "I don't keep up with a calendar." Exactly! Your calendar is the most honest autobiography you'll ever write. Each scheduled block, whether filled or not, reflects a choice about what you value.

I have also found that when my behavior doesn’t align with my priorities, I am unhappy, stressed, unfulfilled, and even angry. On the other hand, when my priorities align with how I spend my time, I feel great, joyful, and satisfied.

So, who do you want to spend more one-on-one time with in 2025? Your daughter, son, or grandkids? Call now, set dates for birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions, and put them on the calendar.

Want Sunday family gatherings over a meal in January and February? Call everyone now, get a good day and time, and put it on your calendar.

Want (need) that intimate time with God.? Coffee and a protein bar along with prayer time and Bible reading are on my calendar from 6-7 am in the mornings.

Wouldn’t it be great to hike to the different waterfalls at the state parks? Put it on the calendar.

How about seeing a tribute band with friends? Bands are booked months out. Buying a ticket in advance always makes sure I will not back out.

You know that trip you have talking about that trip for years? Plan now! Put it on a calendar. Start checking for the best flight prices four months out. Check for the best location and price at Airbnbs and Hotels. Planning a vacation is almost as good as doing it.

You have always wanted to go to that (now not so) new restaurant? Put it on the calendar.

Want to live a healthy life? Set up regular times to exercise. Plan healthy meals a week in advance.

In this wisdom age, I have concluded that when the day is over, we either look back with good memories of what we did or with regret for what we could have done but didn’t.
