It's Not About Celebrating Another Year Older; It's About Celebrating Another Year With Those Who Are Special to You

Yesterday concluded my 70th "Birth-week" celebrations. And what a week it was.
IT STARTED...
Back in Tenneesse, when Sid (my sister) and Duan took Mom and me to an amazing lunch at "The Pearl At Aspire," where I got my first birthday cake.
IT'S OUR TRADITION...
I love these traditions! Mom and Sid called me on my birthday and sang "Happy Birthday" (maybe a reasonable facsimile). I am glad my family had other jobs besides singing; we would have starved. š
GETTING BACK FROM TENNESSEE...
Jean made me one of my favorites, "three-day coconut cake." And when she wasn't making one of my favorite meals, she took me out to lunch... three times.
THE PREMIER BIRTHDAY PRESENT...
Jess and Frank took me out for my "premier birthday present" birthday with the grandkids to one of "my favorites," Chili's ("my favorites" translated=cheap, good food and great service). My daughter knows I like "Oh Henry" candy bars. They don't make them in the US anymore, so she has then shipped them from Canada for my birthdays. They gave me a hat with Papaw written on it and a delicious German Chocolate cake.
LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST...
As I head to the gym this morning to work off the 4 pounds I gained this past week, I want to thank you with all my heart for your hundreds of birthday wishes and comments.
AFTER SO MANY BIRTHDAYS, IT'S NOT ABOUT CELEBRATING ANOTHER YEAR OLDER...
Don't get me wrongāI like to eat out, and presents are alwaysĀ nice, but birthdays are not so much about celebrating another year older as they are an opportunityĀ toĀ celebrate another yearĀ with those who are special to you.

Happy late Birthday - glad you had a good week!
